柳秉亮 Billy Liu

Billy Liu is a London‑based oboist noted for his orchestral versatility and expressive chamber playing. He holds the Artist Diploma from the Royal College of Music and maintains regular collaborations with leading UK ensembles. Billy’s orchestral work includes guest principal appointments with the English National Ballet and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, and guest oboist engagements with the London Symphony Orchestra.

He has recorded and performed extensively with major ensembles, including touring with the London Symphony Orchestra under Sir Simon Rattle. Billy’s education began at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (2015), where he studied with Professor Sun Minghong, and continued at the Royal College of Music, where he completed postgraduate studies with distinction under the guidance of Olivier Stankiewicz, Juliana Koch, Fabien Thouand, John Anderson and Gareth Hulse.

A prizewinner in multiple international competitions, Billy’s awards include distinctions at the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Woodwind Competition (2022), the Royal College of Music Woodwind Competition (2022) and the Telemann Fantasias Recording Competition (2021). In 2023 he was shortlisted for the prestigious Muri Competition (Switzerland).

As a soloist and chamber musician, Billy performs across Europe, Asia and North America, with appearances in London, Paris, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Boston and Barcelona.

秉亮以英国表演类最高学位艺术家文凭毕业于英国皇家音乐学院，后定居伦敦，并与英国各大乐团、音乐厅和音乐基金会长期合作。他曾与伦敦交响乐团合作，为著名国产电子游戏《原神》录制配乐，并在西蒙·拉特爵士的指挥下，参与了伦敦交响乐团的巴黎巡演。秉亮在英国皇家音乐学院院长、伦敦交响乐团双簧管首席以及英国皇家歌剧院双簧管首席的联合推荐下，成功入选英国“全球人才计划”。2024年，他受邀担任英国皇家音乐学院RCM主办首届双簧艺术节的室内乐导师。

秉亮在国际赛事中屡获殊荣，包括2022雅马哈欧洲音乐基金会木管大赛、2022英国皇家音乐学院木管大赛、2021泰勒曼幻想曲录音比赛等。2023年，Billy入围世界最高规格、最高难度的双簧管比赛之一——瑞士穆里国际大赛（The Muri Competition）

秉亮于2015年考入上海音乐学院，师从孙铭红教授。2019年考入英国皇家音乐学院 (Royal College of Music) 攻读演奏硕士学位，并荣获皇家音乐学院’Big Give’ 奖学金。他同时师从于Olivier Stankiewicz、Juliana Koch、Fabien Thouand、John Anderson与Gareth Hulse五位教授。秉亮以最高成绩等次（DI）完成硕士学位 (Master of Performance) 与艺术家文凭 (Artist Diploma)毕业。

作为独奏与室内乐演奏家，他的演奏足迹遍布伦敦、巴黎、上海、北京、香港、澳门、波士顿、利物浦、巴塞罗那、格拉纳达等多个国际文化艺术中心。
